DESCRIPTION
I worked on a project for a class at Harrisburg University of Science & Technology (HU) where I had to create a 2D game from scratch, starting from the core loop to the final product. I spent a total of 4 months working on this project. In the game, the player has to collect all the coins required in each level while avoiding a chasing wall. When all the coins are collected, a door is unlocked leading to the next level. Additionally, collecting coins pushes the wall back, giving the player more time. The coding aspect of the project was the most challenging, and I had to watch several videos to better understand how to implement my ideas. To ensure that the levels flowed smoothly, I designed the early levels with fewer enemies and basic platforms. As the player progresses through the game, I introduced new objects, enemies, added more coins to collect and made the chasing wall faster. Overall, this project helped me develop my level design skills and learn more about coding.
